New Zealand Announce 15-Member Squad for ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025

New Zealand has unveiled their 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, with their campaign set to begin against hosts Pakistan on 19 February in Karachi. This will be the first major ICC tournament with Mitchell Santner as the new white-ball captain, following his successful leadership in the home series against Sri Lanka.

The squad features a balance of seasoned veterans and rising stars, with Will O’Rourke, Ben Sears, and Nathan Smith making their debuts at a senior ICC event. The experienced pace duo of Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson will spearhead the bowling attack, with Ferguson participating in his fifth ICC tournament after playing pivotal roles in previous ODI and T20I World Cups.

Captain Santner will lead the spin attack, supported by versatile all-rounders Michael Bracewell, Glenn Phillips, and Rachin Ravindra. Veteran batsmen Kane Williamson and Tom Latham bring crucial experience, with Latham taking over wicketkeeping duties for the tournament. Both Williamson and Latham, along with Santner, were part of New Zealand’s squad for the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Jacob Duffy is named as a reserve player and could step in if Ferguson becomes unavailable due to franchise cricket commitments.

New Zealand Squad: Mitchell Santner (c), Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Will O’Rourke, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Ben Sears, Nathan Smith, Kane Williamson, Will Young.
